After my friend Murphy posted on Twitter about posting a cover on Youtube, I suddenly remembered wanting to try that out.

I’ve never taken any singing or voice lessons to help me get the notes right when I sing. However, I do remember joining the Chinese Glee Club back when I was still in pre-school. It was fun. I guess that was when I started to like singing.

I only joined the choir again when I reached fourth or fifth grade. It was a small choir that sang every Saturday during our school’s anticipated Sunday mass. It’s kind of a tradition for Judenites to attend the Saturday mass in our auditorium.

I continued being in the choir until I graduated from high school, mainly because all my friends were there too.

Somewhere along the middle of all that, I had decided to take guitar lessons! I think that was in the summer before sixth grade. I also loved watching other people play the piano, but don’t ask me why I didn’t learn that instead. I don’t know either.

Learning the guitar wasn’t that easy for me I think? My hands were slow and a bit too stiff. I couldn’t learn how to strum properly.

Yeah, I sucked. Maybe I should have studied the piano instead.

But it was a fun thing to do.

But I still sucked and didn’t practice after the lessons ended.

I can only play the first few chords for “More Than Words”. That’s all I remember.

So, now what? I forgot how to play and here I am saying I want to cover a song. Heck, I might even be tone deaf and not know it!

Now, I get our guitar fixed and get back to practicing whenever I can. Start memorizing chords again. Practicing one song at a time and maybe even play one whole song and sing it!

I’m adding this to my resolutions.

At least cover one song by the end of 2012.

It’s just one song, so it won’t be that hard, right? I hope so.
